PAJAMA WORSHIP

Is there any other way to worship on New Year’s Eve?

KIDS NIGHT

Just another fun evening for the younger kids at UIC.

Games, an indoor campfire, and s’mores!

COMMUNITY HARVEST MEAL

UIC and Christ’s Lutheran Church helped prepare, package, and handout meals on Monday, November 20th at Milton’s Community Harvest Meal which is run by Bucknell University’s Office of Civic Engagement.  This weekly, free, community meal is prepared at St. Andrew’s Methodist church in Milton.  It’s always a true blessing to help prepare this meal!

PASTOR APPRECIATION

Sunday, October 29th, we celebrated Pastor Justin, Vicar Katy, and Pastor Scott (our supply pastor for the day) .

And yes, Justin and Scott look a lot alike because they are father and son.

Thank you Vicar Katy and Pastor Justin for all you do for this congregation!!!!
We are truly blessed to have you both shepherding us!!

TRUNK OR TREAT

We had 280 kids!!

HAM AND BEAN SOUP FUNDRAISER

Every September UIC holds a soup fundraiser and 100% of proceeds goes to a non-profit organization. This year we are donating soup proceeds to the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association.

Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper is dedicated to protecting, improving, and preserving the health of the Middle Susquehanna River Watershed, an approximate 11,000-square-mile area defined by the North and West Branches of the Susquehanna River, its tributaries, and drainage area. You can learn more here, www.middlesusquehannariverkeeper.org.

OAKS SENIOR CENTER TURNS 10!!

In 2013 the church council of UIC talked about what was needed in our community.  Council decided to start a once a month, free, senior center and named it OAKS, short for Older Adults Kicking it up Senior Center.  Ten years later and still going strong!  On September 12th we served 75 meals of rib (donated by National Beef) and had Andy Weaver come do balloon art!

OAKS would not be possible without our awesome volunteers!!!!

DOING GOD’S WORK

On Monday, September 11 members from UIC and CELC stepped out of their buildings and did God’s work, feeding those that need fed at Harvest Community Meal organized by the Bucknell University Office of Civic Engagement.  We actually ran out of meal!  The need is great now a days!

Such a blessing to serve along side our sisters and brothers in Christ!

PACKING BOXES AT THE FOOD BANK

The Central PA Food Bank contacted a member of UIC asking for help and we said “YES!”  We packed up 7 pallets of food boxes for senior citizens.

CELEBRATING VICAR KATY

Vicar Katy has completed her pastoral internship!

Next time you’re here, check out the new image of Jesus from @sanctifiedart that was added to our Jesus wall in honor of the ways in which Vicar Katy has helped us to see the full spectrum of God’s love through Jesus!

UIC gifted Vicar Katy with a twin copy to take wherever she goes!

We’ll look forward to welcoming Vicar Katy back as our senior seminarian this Fall.

ANNUAL UIC FAMILY PICNIC

THE GREAT SEUSSCHARIST

Holy Humor Sunday

The custom, which began with the Greeks, finds its roots in the musings of early church theologians who claimed that God played a practical joke on the devil by raising Jesus from the dead.

This is a Sunday like no other!

NIGHT OF BOWLING

LUTHERAN DAY IN THE CAPITOL

On April 27th a few folks from UIC made their way to Harrisburg to join with Lutherans from across PA and meet with representatives to advocate for hunger and housing initiatives in the upcoming budget season!

PACKING FOOD BOXES AT THE FOOD BANK

UIC is only 1 of a handful of church in Pennsylvania that delivers food boxes to senior citizens through the Central Pa Food Bank.  On February 28 we got to volunteer at the location in Williamsport.  It was a true blessing to be able to package up the same boxes of food we delivered the following week!!

SOUPER BOWL OF CARING

On Sunday, February 12 we collected over 1,000 items for Milton Panther Packs!
